Models for NEK — EXPO 2025, Osaka

For Bulgaria’s presence at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka we built two models for the National Electricity Company — one of the existing Chaira pumped-storage plant, one of a planned pumped-storage facility.

Both were reproduced at 1:2500 through 3D modelling and 3D printing, followed by hand work on the terrain, the planting, the reservoirs and the shorelines.

The hard engineering requirement was not the models themselves but their journey: the structure was designed to be assembled, taken apart and packed so that it reached Japan in perfect condition.
